参考书目
关于近代戏剧的著作，散见于欧美市场的，总在千种以上。现在暂且把容易买得到，而又简洁合用者，略举几种在下面：

3． E.Goldman: Social Significance of the Modern Drama.
4． A.Hehderson: European Dramatists.
5． B.Mathews: The Development of the Drama.
6． B.Shaw: Dramatic Opinions and Essays, 2 Vols.
7． J.Huneker: Iconoclasts.
8． H.Carter: Theatre of Max Beinhardt.
9． E.G.Craig: On the Art of the Theatre.
10． Ditto: Towards a New Theatre.
上举参考书十种，大抵是简要明晰，也容易买得到的，其他各种演剧史，剧论剧评，及舞台监督，舞台管理，扮装之类，皆有专书，举不胜举，一概略去。此外尚有几本日本书，和新近在美国出版的一种现代戏剧丛书，都很有价值，本篇的材料，以取自此数书者为多，特志之以表感谢的意思。
